The Way We Get By

"We get high in back seats of cars
We break into mobile homes
We go to sleep to shake appeal
Never wake up on our own

And that's the way we get by
The way we get by."- Spoon

If it's Fall, I must be insanely busy...
work's keeping me from posting
regularly...rules is rules, luv...
I'm too tired to even think up a cute story
to accompany my sketch dump...
Most of these pics were taken at a street fair and all
the kids are looking up at me holding rapidly melting icees...
Here's a few random thoughts till I can come back to Bloggertown...
Listening to a few great bands these days through my work mates...
Pinback, Midlake, Cold War Kids, Feist, and though Dave Grohl kinda
went Kumbaya on me, I'm also checking out the new Foos....strangely mellow...
The new single was so RAWK...
I've decided to smoke three packs a day till I sound like the lead singer
from Spoon...love that guy's voice....why isn't that band huge?
And I'll leave you with the greatest KennaQuote in recent memory....

"Dad, I think I either want to die of old age, or I want to die by Excalibur."

"Are you talking about Excalibur...the sword King Arthur pulled out of the stone?
THAT Excalibur?"

"Yeah....that one....."

These are awesome, as usual, Glenn. Love the expressions of happiness in their eyes. Aaah, nothing like a child and sweets to be on their good side. Something that really disturbs me, though, is the fact you chopped the two kids' arms out of frame. Dude, they look like amputees!!! Wha the f****??? Other than that, love the drawings and I'm sure the likeness to each kid is dead-on.

Hey Jessito! You funny fucka! Yeah, I go around street fairs drawing the amputees, keeping them at arm's length with snow cones they'll never hold....You crack me up man!

I was also gonna tease you about the lack of arms. Something of a playground taunt like, "Glenn can't draw ha-ands, Glenn can't draw ha-ands, neener neener nee-ner." And hands are one of the hardest things to draw right? Kind of like walking for animators?

Anyway- then I remembered how much you beat yourself up about even your best stuff and decided not to tease you.

But then I remembered how I lost that bet and said "F" it, I'm teasing him. If I was thinking, I would have made that bet over who won the Division! Dang it!

Anyway - good luck with those Indi...Native Americans. Maybe we'll see you in the ALCS. This is a family affair cuz the pops in law is a huge Angels fan. And I'm a huge Red Sox fan. I mean huge- like 235 these days.

Also, I like Rebekkit's pretty new blog avatar- even more than I like the big hat in yours.

As for music, I have yet to get all of those CDs you burned for Rachel on to my iPod. And even if I did, I have no way to know who is who and what track is what, you know? But I will try. Jeff (Rachel's uncle, Mike's younger brother) gave me some Clutch and I struggle with it too.

Dig this though - Jake is in to AC/DC and Iron Maiden these days. So him listening to Back in Black is like me listening to, what, the Big Bopper? Elvis? Anyway - I bought Ozzy's Blizzard of Oz for him and we listened to it together on a drive to help Lauren and Paul move. And he loved it. It was pretty cool to share that one with him.

Peace brother...at least until our teams meet up in a couple of weeks.

Start thinking up a new bet in case it comes to that.

Come on Glenn, you are still Mr. September. It's not like you're watching the Yankees or anything in your free time. Get something up, man. I am in Florida and managed to get a post up.
